Salted Black Beans also known as Fermented Black Soybeans, Chinese Fermented Black Beans (Douchi), are used in many Chinese and Asian recipes, they have a pungent aroma and a strong salty/savoury flavour and are used as an ingredient/seasoning to give a rich savoury flavour to the dish like mapo doufo a popular Chinese dish from the Szechuan province, a very popular use is to mash the beans with garlic, ginger, chilli and soy sauce to make a strong paste for flavouring sauces for stir- fries, fish and meat dishes.
Also can be soaked in cold water for half an hour before being added to stews and stir-fries to reduce the salty flavour.
Ingredients: Black beans (55%), Water (33%), Salt (12%) Black beans are fermented, non-GM SOY beans (Glycine max or Glycine soja).
